Astrophysics Data System

Provides access to abstracts from astronomical/planetary sciences/solar physics articles, space instrumentation and engineering articles, physics and geophysics articles, and abstracts from the Los Alamos preprint server. They include abstracts from all major journals, many minor journals, conference proceedings, NASA reports, and many PhD theses.

Internet Public Library

A public service organization, and a learning/teaching environment. In January 2010, the website "ipl2: information you can trust" was launched, merging the collections of resources from the Internet Public Library (IPL) and the Librarians' Internet Index (LII) websites. The site is hosted by Drexel University’s College of Information Science & Technology and a consortium of colleges and universities with programs in information science are involved in developing and maintaining the ipl2.

National Technical Information Service (NTIS)

NTIS is the federal government's central source for the sale of scientific, technical and other information by or for the U.S. government.  More than 750,000 items (available since 1990) are searchable on this site.  Many records now include free links to the full-text publication on an agency's web site.  In 1997 NTIS began optically scanning all technical reports received.  These versions are downloadable; publications under 20 pages are free.

National Transportation Safety Board
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is an independent federal agency charged with determining the probable cause of transportation accidents and promoting transportation safety, and assisting victims of transportation accidents and their families. The NTSB investigates accidents, conducts safety studies, evaluates the effectiveness of other government agencies’ programs for preventing transportation accidents, and reviews the appeals of enforcement actions involving aviation and mariner certificates issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), as well as the appeals of civil penalty actions taken by the FAA.
